I come to you for your legal needs!
Wills, Estates, & Trusts
Wills are an important part of planning for your family’s future. If you don’t have a Will then the Commonwealth of Virginia has a set of rules for how your estate will be handled. I believe it is much better that you decide who gets what from your estate. The only way to control how your assets are distributed is to have a Will.
Small Business
Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy. I define small business as an entity that has 5 million or less in annual gross revenues. While there are different types of recognized organized businesses, the protections provided by limited liability corporations (LLC) are ideal for small businesses. If a LLC is properly utilized, it can help protect the personal property of the owners/members of the LLC, as well as help reduce taxes that are paid to the Federal government and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Land Use & Eminent Domain
Land use issues are notoriously complex. Zoning issues, comprehensive plans, set backs, easements, the list goes on and on. My experience representing local governments can help you navigate these troubled waters. From helping with a rezoning to interacting with local officials, I can guide you through the process.
Criminal Defense
No one plans on becoming a defendant in a criminal case, but if you find yourself facing a criminal misdemeanor or felony charge, your freedom and livelihood could be at risk. If you are questioned about your involvement in any crime, arrested on a criminal complaint, or charged with a misdemeanor or felony offense, it is your right to have an attorney and it is important to exercise such constitutional rights.
Government Agencies
Mr. Patrick has extensive experience in representing government agencies. In addition to 16 plus years of exclusive local government representation as the City Attorney for Waynesboro, County Attorney for Orange County, and Assistant City Attorney for the City of Chesapeake.
