Small Business
Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy. I define small business as an entity that has 5 million or less in annual gross revenues.
While there are different types of recognized organized businesses, the protections provided by limited liability corporations (LLC) are ideal for small businesses. If a LLC is properly utilized, it can help protect the personal property of the owners/members of the LLC, as well as help reduce taxes that are paid to the Federal government and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The formation of a LLC involves more than just filing a document with the State Corporation Commission. That is where I can help. From reviewing where the business will be located to how the responsibilities of the owners/members will be shared, the written documents of the LLC have to be crafted properly and all of the ‘other’ considerations have to be evaluated. Even the proposed name of the LLC needs to be vetted to avoid potential future conflicts.
I also do ‘checkups’ of existing LLC’s to determine if you are actually getting the protections that you formed the LLC for in the first place.
During the pandemic, the required information for the formation of the LLC can be transmitted by email and by the completion of forms that I will send to you. Conferencing by Zoom is also available. The checkups of existing LLC’s will also have to be done remotely during the pandemic, but will occur at your office once this pandemic has passed.
